The eyes are covered with a sterile cloth and then anaesthetized with eye drops. The eyelids are separated with special equipment called blepharostat so that the patient can not blink during the operation. After your LASIK eye surgery, it is normal to experience temporary stinging, burning and tearing for up to 6 hours. You should rest and keep your eyes closed as much as possible and avoid touching your eyes during the first 24 hours. You should not take a shower during the first 24 hours. You will be able to return to your daily life after 24 hours. You should use your medication on time and as instructed by your eye surgeon. You should avoid swimming in the sea or pool for at least 2 weeks. Women should not wear any makeup at least for 1 week. You should avoid heavy activities for a few weeks.
