Eyelid Surgery in Turkey

Read the FAQs of Eyelid Surgery in Turkey to find out Blepharoplasty Abroad and Eyelid Surgery Cost in Turkey.

Droopy eyelids, sagging around the eyes or eye bags are the changes that mostly comes with aging. In rare cases, these changes may be seen in very young ages and this is genetic. The eyelid skin is short and tight in young ages. It get loose with aging and a second layer is formed as a result of this looseness. This newly formed crease sometimes even causes visual problems. Similarly, the lower eyelid skin also get loose with age and skin bags are formed under eyes. Following this, fat pads around the eyeball move forward as a result of weakening of the tissue that holds them in place. All of these changes give the person’s face a tired and puffy look with hooded eyes.

Eyelid surgery is a cosmetic procedure performed by removing the excess skin and excess fat under the skin that may cause hooded or drooping eyelids or bags and sags around the eyelids and lifting the skin surrounding the eyes to maintain a young energetic look and sometimes to solve visual problems caused by the excess skin or fat tissue. Also known as blepharoplasty or eyelid lift surgery, it is a simple and quick cosmetic procedure and it can be performed for both upper and lower eyelids separately while in some cases for both at the same time.

Eyelid surgery Turkey is generally performed under local anaesthesia with sedation since it is a simple and quick cosmetic procedure. Only in some specific cases it can be performed under general anaesthesia. After local anaesthesia is given to your eyelids, your surgeon will make an incision over the natural crease for upper eyelid surgery or just underneath your eyelashes for lower eyelid surgery. If you have a combined surgery of both upper and lower eyelids, then your surgeon will apply both incision types. SEE INCISIONS FOR EYELID SURGERY. Excess skin and fat tissue under your eyelid skin are removed. Connective tissue and muscles are fixed if there is any weakness. Then your surgeon will close the incisions with very thin absorbable sutures so that there is no visible eyelid surgery scar afterwards. If your surgeon finds it necessary, simple sutures will be used for your upper eyelid instead of absorbable stitches. Lastly, small bandages will placed on your eyes to reduce the oedema.
