Dental Implants in Turkey

Read the FAQs of Dental Implants Abroad to find out Dental Implants in Izmir Turkey and Dental Implants Cost Turkey.

A dental implant is a metal screw, often made of titanium, used in the treatment of a missing tooth by being placed in the jaw bone. A dental implant screw supports one or more crowns to be placed on it. There are 3 elements in a dental implant system: the implant screw as a tooth root, the internal screw also known as an abutment that connects the screw and the dental crown.

A dental implant procedure is usually performed in two visits. On the first visit, the dentist numbs the area with local anaesthesia and drills a small hole into the jaw bone to fit the implant screw and closes it with small stitches. After this process, the jaw bone needs to heal before the dental crown is fitted onto the implant. The implant must be perfectly embedded into the jawbone to function as a tooth root. This healing period usually takes around 2-4 months. On the second visit, the abutment is fitted into the hole of the dental implant. The dental impression is taken for the preparation of the dental crowns.
